The purpose of the Division of Institutional Advancement is to articulate, facilitate and encourage financial and other support for the sustainability and enhancement of the College’s capacity to fulfill its mission of teaching and public service.The programs of Institutional Advancement support the College’s mission and strategic goals by utilizing the highest ethical and professional standards and best practices to achieve the greatest level of financial support and visibility for Morris Brown College. Specifically, the Division is responsible for securing financial and in-kind support from all private and public sources including corporations, foundations, individuals, state and federal governments. The staff of Institutional Advancement conducts comprehensive research on potential donors and implements cultivation and solicitation strategies in support of the College’s ongoing operational and programmatic needs.
The Division of Institutional advancement currently staffed by one (1) individual who operates as the Director of Alumni Affairs and has responsibility for serving alumni and the College by offering diverse program opportunities for alumni engagement, e.g., chapter development, class reunions. Additionally, the Director provides leadership for the Pre-Alumni Council.
As resources become available, the college may employ a Chief Development Officer to give oversight to other activities under the umbrella of Institutional Advancement as well as employ other staff members.
The Division of Institutional Advancement is located on the second floor of the Administration Building.
The office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and by appointment.
