Atlanta Greek Picnic Participants Leave $10,000 with Morris Brown College

Atlanta, GA (June 30, 2009).  The Atlanta Greek Picnic has been growing in popularity since its founding in 2004 when 1,000 plus members of some of the most well-known Greek-letter organization on the campuses of HBCU’s gathered in Atlanta to see old friends and reminisce their college days. Today this organization, the Atlanta Greek Picnic, Inc., has grown to a hefty 10,000 participants who came to the campus of Morris Brown College in June. This year, these men and women left Morris Brown with a $10,000 contribution.

Tiwa Agana-Williams (TOKS), the spokesperson for the Atlanta Greek Picnic group, said, “People came from all over, as far as Canada, Seattle, and of course, CA, DC, NY and just about every state on the east coast. We enjoyed the social networking, making some business contacts, and just touching-base with each other. We plan to come again next year.”

The Greek-letter organizations present included Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Iota Psi Theta Fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Dr. Stanley Pritchett, acting President of Morris Brown College – and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi — said, “Of course, we are most grateful for the contribution; but even more so, we welcome the opportunity to share our campus with these men and women who can return to their cities and spread the word that there is a viable student body at Morris Brown and we are continuing to provide a quality education for our students.”
