This course is designed to help students identify, document, and evaluate their prior
global leadership experiences for college credit. The Prior Leadership Assessment (PLA)
process enables students to gain academic recognition for knowledge and skills acquired
through international work experience, military service abroad, cross-cultural community
service, and professional training in global contexts. Students may receive up to 30 credit
hours, subject to evaluation by relevant faculty. Emphasizing global leadership, this
course examines leadership as an interpersonal and intra-organizational phenomenon
across diverse cultural settings. Students will compile a comprehensive portfolio that
demonstrates their prior global leadership experiences and aligns with academic
standards. The course includes current readings, research, simulations, and exercises that
focus on effective leadership styles and theories in a global environment.
