Academic Affairs advances the academic mission of Morris Brown College through Curriculum and Program Development, Faculty Excellence and Support, Student Academic Services, Institutional Accreditation and Compliance, and Experiential Learning and Research. The division supports strong academic programs that align with accreditation standards, industry needs, and student career goals. Through CTLI, advising, tutoring, academic coaching, registration support, and degree planning, Academic Affairs helps students stay supported and on track. The division also invests in faculty development, teaching innovation, scholarly engagement, and effective instruction. Faculty Affairs

At Morris Brown College, Faculty Affairs through the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation (CTLI) supports faculty policies, hiring processes, evaluations, promotion, and tenure. CTLI also leads professional development opportunities that strengthen teaching, innovation, and faculty effectiveness while maintaining faculty records to support compliance and accountability.

MBC Core Competencies

The MBC Core defines the foundational academic expectations for all students at Morris Brown College:

Academic Writing

Every student must complete at least one academic paper per course to strengthen writing, critical thinking, and scholarly communication skills.

Collaborative Learning

Each course must include at least one group project to promote teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Oral Communication

All students are required to give at least one speech or presentation per course. In asynchronous online courses, this may be submitted as a pre-recorded video presentation.

Research Competency

Students must engage in course-related research utilizing the college library and its digital or physical resources, fostering information literacy and academic inquiry.

Technology Integration

Students are expected to use appropriate technology tools and platforms in every course, supporting digital literacy and engagement in modern learning environments.
