This course provides an in-depth exploration of the physical, cognitive, emotional, and
social development of children and adolescents from infancy through adolescence.
Drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives from psychology, sociology, biology, and
education, students will examine theories and research findings related to key
developmental milestones, individual differences, and contextual influences on
development. Special attention will be given to the implications of developmental
principles for understanding and promoting optimal growth and well-being in children
and adolescents.
